The counseling and coaching services
are educational and not therapy. We do not bill medical insurance. The services
described on this page are designed to give you insight, knowledge and skills that you can
use to overcome relationship difficulties and restore harmony to your family. See what other parents have said.
All of our counseling and coaching is
done by telephone. We find that we are able to help more people at less cost by using the
telephone. This saves you a trip to the office and child care costs. Sessions are
approximately 50 minutes. To pay for your session, you may use a Visa or Master Card or
pay in advance by check or money order. See the fees section below. At the appointed time
you will call the number provided and your session will begin.
Presently, we have three types of
counseling and coaching available:
Counseling:
Dr. Major has 21 years of experience in counseling parents who are experiencing
difficulties in their families. She is the author of Breakthrough Parenting: Moving
Your Family from Struggle to Cooperation and the founder of Breakthrough Parenting
Services, Inc. She has specialized in parent education and has taught over 19,000 parents
optimal parenting skills. She further specializes in divorce and child custody disputes

Parent Coaching:
We have certified Breakthrough Parenting Instructors available to coach you in modern
parenting techniques; we call this Breakthrough
Parenting Basics. All of our instructors have been trained by Dr. Major and teach
their own Breakthrough Parenting classes. With popularity of the Super Nanny and Nanny
911, more and more parents are eager to learn how to solve the problem of out of control
children. You will be amazed at how quickly your family can move from struggle to

Nanny Coaching:
Our instructors can also train your nanny in modern parenting methods that do not use fear
or punishment to motivate children. They will learn how to raise your child’s
self-esteem. The nanny coach will also teach age-appropriate discipline methods. Click

Fees
- A consultation with Jayne A. Major, Ph.D. is $195.
- A consultation with a Certified Breakthrough Parenting Instructor may be for parent
coaching or nanny training. Fee is $85.
